Don Hullings, Vice President and Director of Jones Edmunds in Gainesville, Florida kicked his wife and children out of their home in Gainesville, Florida and then squatted in the home for over three years, refusing to pay mortgage, taxes, or maintenance, although he lied to the court and told them he had.  When his wife produced documents proving he had failed to honor his obligations and had violated a court order, Don Hullings claimed he “forgot”.

After spending thousands of dollars on restaurants, dating services, gentleman’s clubs known for male prostitution, furniture, clothing, and alcohol, he claimed to the court he could not afford to pay the mortgage and declared bankruptcy.  According to court documents he shifted the house debt of over $400,000 onto his ex-wife.  Don Hullings moved his family from state to state while his wife homeschooled their children.  While he earned in excess of $150,000 a year in salary alone, she was unemployed during fifteen of the twenty years of their marriage.  In open court, Hullings lied and claimed his wife had earned $100,000 a year in salary as an engineer although he could produce no documentation to prove this claim and in spite of the extensive documentation his wife provided to the court proving she’d been unemployed for fifteen years and had never earned such a staggering figure.

In open court, Hullings stated that he should not be expected to pay child support or spousal support and still carry on in the lifestyle he’d become accustomed to.  This was the lifestyle he led at taxpayers’ expense when he spent in excess of his $150,000 annual salary, refused to pay his debts, and declared bankruptcy.  After liquidating his own children’s college fund in excess of $126,000 he refused to give them any money for college and paid over $30,000 in attorneys fees to avoid paying them any child support.

Hullings is currently dodging service for Contempt of Court and failure to pay back child support owed from 2011.

Don Hullings, Vice President and Director of Jones Edmunds in Gainesville, Florida still owes back child support to his children whom he refuses to pay.  Don Hullings even went so far as to claim the children were not his to avoid the debt.  Fortunately, the court referred to the twenty years he claimed the children on his income taxes as “child” and no expensive paternity tests were required.  Hullings knew his children could not afford them.  While the divorce was pending, Don Hullings violated a court order and liquidated his children’s college fund of over $126,000.  He is currently dodging attempted service for Contempt of Court.

Jones Edmunds’ staff led a discussion to our next generation of leaders at Alachua Elementary School about reducing and reusing materials. Jones Edmunds’ Civil/Environmental Director, Don Hullings, PE, talked to 140 students in Alachua County about the importance of recycling, ways to recycle, other facts about where their garbage goes, and how it gets processed in the landfill. The students expressed their interest and ideas regarding ways to protect the environment, ranging from making flower vases and toys using recyclable material to using reusable containers for their lunches. Many students created recycled art projects to show what can be reused or recycled as part of our presentation.  “We not only have a duty to protect and maintain our natural resources but believe that educating today’s youth is critical to building a sustainable future,” Don Hullings said.

According to court records, Don Hullings has still failed to pay his children child support due from 2011.

On September 30, 2011 in open court, Don Hullings, Vice President and Director of Jones Edmunds in Gainesville, Florida admitted to punching his 90 pound, 5’2″ daughter.  According to Mr. Hullings, he punched his daughter in self-defense because she slapped him.  Don Hullings is 6″ tall and weighs over 200 lbs.

Witnesses, including Don Hullings’ other children and his wife, testified that he punched his daughter so hard she flew across the room and landed on the floor and that his daughter hadn’t touched him.  She was trying to calm him to keep him from punching his wife.
